Recording lectures on iphone9/10/2023 ![]() ![]() If the Zoom meeting is one that you scheduled you can also press the icon after signing in to view all of your scheduled zoom meetings. Join meetings on iPhone – Tap on the provided zoom link for the meeting you wish to join and your iPhone will automatically open up the zoom app and join the meeting.You can sign in with your TNS provided Zoom account however you may be signed out of zoom from any other device using that same zoom account. Sign into your Zoom Account – When you first open the Zoom app you’ll be prompted to sign in.You can also click this link to be taken directly to the download page. Download – Search for Zoom from the App store on your iPhone.Using a mobile phone (iPhone or Android) to make recordings with Zoom in the Classroom Once your recording is complete you will receive an email to the associated with your zoom account with a link to your Zoom recording.Always save recordings to the cloud and not on this computer.While in a zoom meeting click on More > Record to the cloud to begin recording.If this is one of your own scheduled zoom meetings your may click on Schedule from the Zoom homepage after signing in If a zoom link has already been made, click on the link and the Zoom software will automatically open and join the room.You may be signed out of Zoom from any other device using that same zoom account. You will be prompted to sign in with your TNS credentials to access your Zoom account. Locate the Zoom software on the Podium PC desktop and launch it.Using the Podium PC or Laptop to make recordings with Zoom in the classroom If you plan to record using a mobile device or the goal for your recording is to capture audio only please make sure to turn off the video in your Zoom meeting.Please advise all to mute their audio and turn off the volume on their speakers. If multiple students long in to Zoom in the same location (classroom) only one device (the one that is used for recording) in the room should have the audio on.If you decide to log in to multiple devices simultaneously please make to have one on mute with audio on off to avoid microphone disruption.Facilitate the discussion in an effort to avoid multiple people speaking at the same time which will impact the quality of the recording.Repeat the questions from students for clarity and to make sure the recordings capture it.Unless someone is following the Zoom chat on a separate device. ![]() If students are listening on the Zoom synchronously, when recording with your mobile phone in the classroom, arrange for students to submit questions via Google Docs or Canvas, and not the Zoom chat.If you decide to use a portable mc with your phone, make a test recording.If you hold or move with your phone around the classroom make sure to not block the mic.Turn off notifications and put your phone on the Do Not Disturb Mode.If you use a mobile phone to record, place it in the middle of the table and consider using a portable mic.If you use a mobile phone to record, you can connect to The New School WiFi.General Guidelines for Recording Using the Zoom mobile app Zoom presents different options for sharing and capturing audio and video from the camera as well as sharing a screen, please make sure to keep on the ones that you would like to record and turn off the ones not in use.Check whether or not the Podium PC has a microphone.Consider the locations of your Podium/laptop in relationship to the students’ seating.Information Technology has created a helpful video and step-by-step on recording via Zoom in the classroom.īelow you will find more general guidance followed by specific instructions for recording in your classroom from the classroom podium or your laptop, or from an iPhone, Android phone and iPad. ![]()
